LOVAT and Glenurquhart have each had three players selected for the senior squad ahead of the forthcoming shinty/hurling internationals next month.

Callum Cruden, Drew Howie and Stuart MacDonald, of Lovat, have all been selected, while Glen's John Barr, Stuart MacKintosh and David Smart are also in the squad to take on Ireland.

"I am really pleased with this year’s squad," said senior head coach Drew MacNeil.

"I had some difficult decisions to make during the selection process as there was a high number of talented, committed players available to chose from.

"However, I am confident that we have chosen players who can match the Irish and who can help us lift the International Series Trophy in Ennis.”

Lovat and Glenurquhart, along with Beauly, also have representation in the Scottish under-21 squad.

Craig Mainland and Greg Matheson (both Lovat); Fraser Heath and Neale Reid (both Glenurquhart) and Conor Cormack and David MacLean (both Beauly) have been picked by head coach Ronald Ross.

The Scots are scheduled to play their Irish counterparts at Bught Park, Inverness on Saturday 20th October, while the return match for the senior is due to take place on Saturday 27th October with the under-21 contest going ahead 24 hours earlier.
