Teenagers compete at Highland Badminton Group Under-17 and Under-13 Championships in Inverness
Highland Badminton Group held its annual Under-13s and Under-17s Tournament at Inverness Leisure Centre.
A total of 45 players competed across the tournament which took place last weekend.
In the under-17 boys’ competition, Callum Mcwhirter from Elgin was crowned champion when he defeated Calum Mackenzie in the final in a dominant performance winning in straight sets 21-9, 21-3.
The consolation final saw William Sendall from Black Isle defeat Adam Ringstead from Benbecula 21-14.
In the girls’ under-17 championship, number two seed Chloe Mackenzie caused an upset when she defeated top seed Thenoo Amnamalai from Glasgow 21-14, 17-21, 21-2.
The consolation final was an all Moray affair as Sophie Howard defeated Kaiya Wilkes 21-6.
Callum McWhirter and William Sendall defeated Aditya Nagdeve and Aayush Sinha to win the under-17 boys’ doubles.
Chloe Mackenzie and Ava Cook defeated Chloe Begg and Kaiya Wilkes to claim the girls’ doubles title.
In the mixed doubles, Callum McWhirter and Chloe Mackenzie defeated William Sendall and Ava Cook.
In the Under-13’s boys championship, Aarav Sinha from Aberdeen defeated Kanishk Tata from Aberdeen, 21-18, 21-17.
In the consolation final, Liam Sinclair from Caithness defeated Ethan Wilby from Dingwall 21-9.
In the Under-13 girls’ singles final, Sophie Mackay from Caithness defeated Josie Columbine from Black Isle 21-15, 21-19.
In the consolation final, Lochcarron’s Maura Mackenzie beat Sophie Sinclair from Caithness 21-16.
In the boys’ doubles competition, Aayush Nagdeve and Aarav Sinha defeated Atharv Sharma and Liam Sinclair.
In the girls’ doubles, Sophie Mackay and Myah Macleod defeated Sophie Sinclair and Lexie Mackenzie and Liam Sinclair with Sophie Mackay won the mixed doubles.
