Inverness Caledonian Thistle head coach Billy Dodds says teams should help each other, with the club having no problem their match at Queen’s Park being switched to Saturday night.

The match has been switched to a 5.30pm kick-off due to the East of Scotland Second Division match between Sygenta and Edinburgh United taking place earlier in the afternoon at Ochilview in Stenhousemuir.

The change in kick-off time has been met with criticism from some fans, but Dodds has no complaints with the change.

He says the club were happy to help Queen’s Park, saying teams should work together when there is a problem.

He said: “It’s not going to kill us a couple of hours, we have done 7.45pm kick-offs, 3pm’s and played midday.

“I haven’t had a 5.30pm kick-off before which is a strange one.

“But you have to get on with it, we have come to an agreement with Queen’s Park. I would like to think if we needed a helping hand, teams can work together in any league.

“That is the way that it should be. I look forward to the game even though it is 5.30pm.

“It just means another couple of hours.”

Queen’s Park, who were promoted through the League One play-offs last season, held Caley Thistle to a 1-1 draw in July.

Since then, they have held their own in the division, and are in sixth place, only one point behind Caley Thistle in fifth.

Dodds says Queen’s Park have proven people wrong by showing they are a good Championship team, well in contention for promotion.

“A lot of people thought a 1-1 draw against Queen’s Park was a disappointing result, but their position now shows that was not such a bad point after all.

“Of course, I still wanted to win the game. We had chances to win it, but so did Queen’s Park.

“They are a team which creates chances - they are very good going forward - but, like us recently, they also concede a few goals.

“It will come down to who plays best and remains nice and solid defensively, and who takes their chances. They really have a go at you.”

Dodds is still expected to be missing nine first team players, with the injury situation at the club showing no signs of improvement any time soon.

But with the best away record in the league, Dodds is hopeful of ending their four game losing streak tomorrow.

“If we can win games, we have the chance to move close to the top. That’s where we’re at right now.”
