Summer Elliott beat far more experienced golfers to win the Nairn Dunbar Ladies Open.

An 11-year-old golfer walked away with the victory at the Nairn Dunbar Ladies Open last Sunday.

Summer Elliott of Nairn Golf Club, smashed her previous course best to shoot 78 and win the division one title.

That also saw her handicap drop from 13 to 11, in part because of her first ever eagle on the par five fifth – the only time anyone in the entire field went two under par on a hole.

Last year she won the Ladies Club Championships at her home club and was named the fourth most improved female golfer by Scottish Golf.
