Shane Sutherland says he will make the most of being back at Inverness Caledonian Thistle when he returns to the club.

The Elgin City striker says he has signed a pre-contract deal to return to the Caledonian Stadium in the summer.

Sutherland (29) originally from Halkirk in Caithness, played for Caley Thistle between 2010 and 2013 before signing permanently at the Borough Briggs club.

Sutherland said looking back at his original stint at Inverness, he didn't do enough to remain as a Caley Thistle player.

But when he arrives back in Inverness, he says he will do everything he can to prove he deserves to wear the shirt.

"I was playing in the Caley Thistle youth team at 16 for a couple of years," he said.

"It was six straight years at the club and I can’t speak highly enough of full-time football.

"I know this time round I am going to make the most of it because looking back to when I got released from Inverness, I ask myself ‘did I make the most of it and do everything I could to prolong my time there’ and I realise maybe not."
