DAVID Carson insists Caley Thistle remain united – and is urging supporters to stick by them too.

Asked if the club’s worst run of defeats since 2009 had fractured dressing room relations, the experienced midfielder made it clear they were sticking together and fully behind manager Billy Dodds’ recovery plan.

After Saturday’s latest setback at Airdrie left them point-less and adrift with zero points at the foot of the table, mid-table Dunfermline are next up in Inverness.

Carson said: “Experienced boys are speaking up, where we need to speak up. Boys are taking responsibility for mistakes that are happening.

“It is a great group and we are all together. We’re all pulling in the right direction.

“In the manager’s post-match interview on Saturday, he said that we carried out the plan he put to us, apart from the mistakes that happened. We’re taking on board what is put across to us and trying to put that into the game.

“We end up two goals down early on but, again, that’s from mistakes, rather than failing to carry out the plan. It seems at the moment, every time someone makes a mistake it is capitalised on. That’s obviously put us in the situation we’re in.

“We’ve got to try and stop that as quickly as we can, but we’ve got a good group of boys who are determined to do that.”

Carson hopes the arrival of Dundee loanee Max Anderson, an energetic midfielder, can help turn it.

Keeping the majority of fans on board is crucial and he added: “We know the fans are frustrated, just as the players are. We want to change it and put a smile on their faces.

“All of the boys are giving everything when they pull the shirt on. We feel one result can really change it. There’s still a lot of football to play. Myself and the players just want to put it out there that we appreciate their support and we will look to repay that.”
