Young striker Ross Stewart hopes that his brace against Motherwell Colts in the Irn-Bru Cup last Saturday has put him in contention for a regular spot in the first team.

The 22-year-old has not started a league match for Ross County since moving to Dingwall from St Mirren in the summer.

But he has been given an opportunity in the Irn-Bru Cup, starting in each of the last two rounds and scoring three goals in total, helping County progress to the semi finals of the competition.

Stewart clearly was not fazed by the occasion of starting a cup quarter final, and he says he only looked at the match as a chance to impress.

“I don’t read into it much, it’s just another game for me,” Stewart said.
