RICHIE Foran hopes his Caley Thistle players are given a stern test at League Two Elgin City tonight (Tuesday) ahead of their Betfred League Cup opener at Cowdenbeath.

The men from Borough Briggs and the Blue Brazil are both in the same division and following wins over the past week against Highland League opponents Nairn County (3-0), Buckie Thistle (8-1) and Clach, new boss Foran is sure his players will raise the standards against City before their competitive kick-off away to Cowden on Saturday.
