Stags trounced by Mackie stampede

Ross Sutherland only had 13 players on the field as they suffered a heavy 64-29 defeat against Mackie in Caledonia North Two.

But head coach John Mann says there were plenty of positives to take out of the game after watching his depleted team score five tries.

Mackie raced into a 33-0 lead but the Stags came stampeding back with three tries to reduce the deficit to 14 points.

But the numerical advantage showed in the second half as Mackie ran away with the contest despite Ross Sutherland managing to put a further two tries on the board.

Mann says despite starting the game with two less players, he said those who took to the field stood up and were counted.
