Ross County interim manager Don Cowie delighted to see supporters travelling in big numbers to back team at Aberdeen

Around 600 Ross County supporters are expected to make the journey east to Aberdeen for their crucial Scottish Premiership match this weekend.
At the time of writing, the Staggies were close to selling out their available allocation, with three packed supporters’ buses due to head through to the Granite City.
It is the first time in years that County will have such a strong travelling contingent at an away match, reflecting both the progress that has been made on the pitch and the importance of getting a result at Pittodrie.
Don Cowie’s side have only lost one of their last five matches, which have included wins over Livingston and Hearts – their last match before the recent international break.
That has them three points behind Aberdeen in ninth.
The game in Aberdeen then, could go a long way to deciding who ends up in the relegation play-off spot at the end of the season, and County interim manager Don Cowie feels the travelling fans will have an important role to play at Pittodrie.
“I’ve said from day one, when I came into this role, how important it was that, nut just the team but the supporters were together and united,” Cowie said.
“The numbers I’m hearing that are going to travel to the game are excellent and it will be great for the boys to come out on Saturday and see that support behind them.
“When you’re a supporter of a football club, you want to see individuals and the team collectively working as hard as they can. I think that’s what they’re seeing.
“When a fan sees that, they’re happy. Obviously they want to see results beyond that, but as long as they know the person is giving everything for the football club, they’ll buy into that and support it.
“I think they have seen that in the last seven weeks.

“Against Hearts I thought it was great that they realised at a time in the second half we were under pressure against a quality team.
“They rallied and got behind the team and almost helped us get over that line. I’ve said numerous times how important they’re going to be going forward as well.
“Naturally, there will be a lot of spotlight on the game, given where both teams are in relation to each other in the league.
“We just focus on ourselves. We have a great travelling support going to the game and that will give the group a massive boost, so it is about making sure we look after ourselves and approach the game in a positive manner.”
