Hibernian 2 (Maolida, Levitt)

Ross County 0

Two second half goals helped Hibernian past Ross County at Easter Road.

The game had been in the balance going into half time, but strikes from Myaziane Maolida and Dylan Levitt after the restart ensured the points would stay in Edinburgh.

After a slow start, proceedings were finally kickstarted when George Wickens was called into action to make a double stop in the 16th minute.

The on-loan Fulham goalkeeper had already proven he is a safe pair of hands with the number of saves he has made since signing for the Staggies in January, denying first Myziane Maolida and then Emiliano Marcondes to keep the scores level.

Midway through the half Victor Loturi drove forward for County, but the shot he got away was saved by David Marshall in the home goal.

Maolida and Martin Boyle were guilty of missing the target before the interval, but generally speaking the Staggies would have been pleased with their defensive effort through the first 45 minutes.

That solidity would not last forever though, as just before the hour mark a rare mistake from Wickens allowed Hibs to break the deadlock.

It was Dylan Vente who crossed from the right flank, and although it appeared as though Wickens had claim to the ball the stopper would let it slip through his grasp, with Maolida on hand to convert.

That was not all, as Hibs would double their advantage in the closing stages, with two substitutes linking up when Ellie Youan found Dylan Levitt, whi found the back of the net.
