Sports in Inverness are ready to swing back into action

GOLF, tennis and angling clubs say they are fully-prepared and ready to go after First Minister Nicola Sturgeon announced “the first careful steps” in relaxation of lockdown measures.

In the next few days, these sports will operate again with strict social distancing observed at fairways, courts and stretches of water.

Inverness Golf Club’s 1000 playing members are able to book tee-off times for next month in anticipation of a resumption of play. The Culcabock course is in good condition after keeping on three greenkeeping staff, with around 20 employees furloughed.

Secretary and manager Ewan Forbes has drawn up detailed plans for careful social distancing.
