Highland RFC coach Dave Carson felt his team proved size isn’t everything after a resounding win kicked off their National League Two campaign.

The hosts thrilled a big crowd at Canal Park with a fine display of attacking rugby against Preston Lodge, claiming a bonus point in a 37-13 victory.

The Prestonpans outfit held plenty of beef and muscle in their forward pack, but proved no match for Highland’s pace and mobility.

"It was a really physical game and we expect there will be a lot of them this year," Carson said.
