SHAUN Nicolson is looking to continue blasting Glengarry on their way to North Division One glory after finding the net six times in the 6-5 win at Kingussie 2nd’s.

The wing forward was instrumental in the victory, grabbing all six goals and dragging his team from 4-1 down to maintain their undefeated start to the campaign.

Nicolson (36) says it was a great team effort to pull his team from behind at half time to claim victory.

“We had conceded three goals in the game and we decided that we had to change things to get back into it,” said Nicolson.

“Nick Dalgety helped make things more solid in the second half and it enabled us to get more ball up front.

“We said at half time we needed to get deeper and get more balls up front and thankfully things happened for us.”

Glengarry are four points clear at the top of North Division One, winning five games and drawing twice in the seven games.

Nicolson says the club are in confident mood this season that they can maintain their title challenge and look for promotion to the National Division.

“If we can get our full squad available this season, I think that we can do well.

“We beat Newtonmore in our first game of the season and we are set to play them again in the next few weeks.

“I am confident that if we can get our full team out for games, we can manage it.”

The former Lochaber player, who has been at Glengarry for the last two years, is the top goalscorer in the division with 12 goals already this season.

He is no stranger to finding the net as the Fort Augustus joiner has managed to score over 40 goals in a season in the past.

But he is not concerned about goalscoring targets, only picking up wins which will keep them top.

“I do not have a goal target, as long as we win, I am happy. I don’t care who scores the goals, as long as we are the winners, that will make me quite happy.”
