MANAGER Drew McNeil says Inverness are in a great position to win North Division One and challenge for promotion for a place in the National Division next season.

Inverness are three points clear at the top of the table as they head to bottom of the table Caberfeidh Reserves at Castle Leod on Saturday afternoon.

The winners of North Division One will face a play-off with the winners of South Division One at the end of the regular season for a place in the National Division next season.

Results have gone Inverness’s way in recent weeks with nearest rivals Kinlochshiel Reserves losing 2–0 at Caberfeidh Reserves while Inverness beat Lovat Reserves 4–0.

McNeil says while individual performances are the main priority at the club, admitted they are in a good position.

“We are only concerned with our own results rather than anyone else’s, says McNeil

“We want our own results, rather than somebody else’s to see where it takes us.

“Our target is to get to the end of the season and win all our games and that would be enough for us.

“I am more focussed on improving our own team performances.”

On paper, Inverness should be favourites to defeat Caberfeidh Reserves, who only picked up their first win of the league campaign last weekend.

McNeil says they must make their three-point advantage count as their main rivals have slipped up in recent weeks.

“Kinlochshiel lost both matches in the last two weeks to Kingussie and Caberfeidh which have been odd results,” he said.

“Obviously the priority at Kinlochshiel is their senior team.

“The problem with reserves is that players can be called up to the first team, so you don’t know who you will face week to week.

“The challenge for us now is to win all of our games until the end of the season which will win the league.”
