CO-MANAGER Niall Maclennan says Beauly still have hard work ahead of them before they can consider winning the National Division and promotion to the top flight for the first time.

Beauly sit four points at the top of the division with five games remaining.

The league leaders will look to at least maintain their advantage at the top of the table when they welcome sixth place Oban Celtic to Braeview tomorrow.

Beauly remain undefeated this season in the National Division, only dropping one point from their nine games.

But Maclennan says his team can’t afford to take anything for granted and must remain focused against a Celtic team who have improved as the season has gone on.

“We don’t take anything for granted,” said Maclennan.

“Oban Celtic have improved as the season has gone on and they have brought in a few players from injury from the start of the season.

“But it has been a good season for us so far in the league and in the cup competitions too.

“However, we have some big matches coming up in our five league games and we must stay focused for those matches.”

Beauly have never played in the Premiership since it was established in 1996.

Maclennan says the club’s success this season has been down to the determination of each of the players.

But he says good player performances rather than winning league titles has been the primary aim of Beauly.

“It has all been down to hard work from our players to get themselves where they are in the table just now and we hope to stay there.

“However in the dressing room, we never ask our players to go out there and get two points.

“We are always asking them to produce the best performance that they can.

“We never tell the players to go out and try and win the league title, that is not the way that we operate.”
