SHINTY - Dream start to 2023 season keeps going for Beauly

BEAULY continued their winning start to the 2023 season as they defeated Glasgow Mid-Argyll 3–1 at Braeview to maintain their 100 per cent record in the Premiership.

Finlay Maclennan put Beauly in front after 22 minutes, but Chris Hollysong equalised for GMA in the 35th minute as the teams went into the break level.

Jack Macdonald put Beauly back in front in the 56th minute with Robbie Brindle finding the net eight minutes later to give them victory.

Beauly are the only team in the league with a 100 per cent record, but have only played two matches as they find themselves in fourth place.

Lovat picked up their first win of the Premiership campaign with a 1–0 victory over Kinlochshiel at Balgate.

Marc Maclachlan scored the only goal of the game 15 minutes from time to secure victory as they moved to eighth place.

Caberfeidh dropped off top spot after they lost their first league game of the season with a 4–2 defeat to Oban Camanachd at Strathpeffer.

The score was level at 1–1 at half time, Craig Morrison scoring for Cabers and Malcolm Clarke finding the net for the visitors.

Oban went 3–1 ahead in the second half through strikes from Daniel MacVicar and Louis MacFarlane. Morrison pulled one back for Caberfeidh six minutes from time, but Matthew Sloss killed the game off to secure a 4–2 win.

Newtonmore are the new leaders after a 3–0 win over Kyles Athletic. Goals from Craig McIssac, Iain Robinson and Connor Jones put them top by two points.

The match between Skye and Kingussie was postponed due to an unplayable pitch in Portree.

In the National Division, Glenurquhart moved to fourth in the table after a 3–0 win over bottom of the table Strathglass in Drumnadrochit.

David MacLennan scored twice with John Barr also finding the net.

Kilmallie are on top on six points with a 4–1 win over Col Glen. Lochaber are second on goal difference after they beat Oban Celtic 3–1.

Inveraray are in third place after they beat Fort William 3–2.

In North Divison One, Glengarry are three points clear at the top after they defeated Inverness 3–1 at Invergarry.

Shaun Nicolson and Steven Cameron put Glengarry 2–0 up.

Steven Bellshaw pulled one back for Inverness, but Jack West secured victory for Glengarry with his strike in the 65th minute to put them three points clear of Kingussie Reserves.
