After nearly 5000 votes were cast, shinty's National Division team of the season has been decided – with Beauly and Glenurquhart each seeing players names in the side.

In order to narrow down the vast pool of talent to just 12 names, every MOWI National club captain was asked to name their own team of the season which was not allowed to contain any players from their club.

From that, the most popular names in each position were then put to Twitter poll with victorious players making the team.

Beauly would have three players in the final 11 – wing back Ryan MacKay, wing centre Conor Ross and wing forward Ross Forbes.

Glenurquhart's Ali Maclean would join Ross in wing centre.

There was also a vote for the managers, which was another poll win for Beauly as Niall MacLennan and Gregor MacCormick claimed the pick.

It was a good year for Beauly on the pitch as they earned promotion to the Premiership, and won the Balliemore Cup, and the managerial duo have been recognised for their efforts.

The rest of the team was made up of one Inveraray player – goalkeeper Scott MacLachlan – and seven from eventual champions Skye.
