National Division outfit Glenurquhart Shinty Club have discovered their opponents in the semi finals of the MacTavish Cup – and they have avoided the Badenoch giants in the draw at Lochcarron Primary School.

The Glen booked their place in the final four with a 1-0 win over Inverness as David MacLennan's 52nd minute goal proved decisive.

That has them just one win away from a cup final, and to get there they will need to beat Skye.

The islanders were the big winners of the quarter finals, winning 5-1 at Beauly – led by Ruaraidh MacLeod's hat-trick.

On the other side of the draw, the two favourites to lift the trophy will face off against each other as Newtonmore host defending champions Kingussie.

Matches will take place on Saturday, May 13.

Camanachd Association chief executive officer Derek Keir said: “We are thrilled to see such enthusiasm and participation in the cottages.com MacTavish Cup draw.

"Our thanks, as ever, go to the staff and pupils at Lochcarron Primary as well as our long term sponsors cottages.com for supporting us in providing opportunities for people to take part in sport and exercise."

Cottages.com regional sales director for Scotland Mark Whitehouse, added: "The cottages.com MacTavish Cup semi final draw means that the four remaining teams can start dreaming of the final at Bught Park on 10th June.

"It promises to be a captivating showcase of Scotland's beloved sport, and cottages.com is proud to support such a thrilling event.

"We're excited to see which teams will emerge victorious and continue their journey towards shinty glory.”
