BEAULY have been dealt a massive blow in their hopes of winning the National Division for the first time after suffering defeat to Skye at Braeview.

Beauly could have guaranteed promotion to the Premiership for the first time in their history today with just a draw.

But two late goals from Ross Gordon and James Pringle have put Skye in pole position for the title, as they are now two points ahead with one game remaining.

Skye have been promoted, but still require one point to win the title, and can do so with a draw at Inveraray next week.

However, if they suffer defeat at Inveraray, who mathematically can still finish second, Beauly can win the league if they beat Inveraray on October 29 as they still have a better goal difference than Skye.

It is likely Beauly will grab the second promotion spot regardless of the result against Inveraray. Despite Inveraray having three games remaining, Beauly are six points ahead and have a superior goal difference of 25.
