Beauly are facing an uphill battle to remain a Premiership team next season after losing 2-1 at home to Skye.

Ross Nicolson put the visitors ahead just before the half-hour mark, but Finlay MacLennan drew Beauly level in the 51st minute.

It was not to be, though, as Skye would go on to find a winner courtesy of Jordan Murchison, holding on despite Sam MacPhee’s red card.

That defeat leaves Beauly three points adrift in the relegation zone having already played more matches than all of their relegation rivals.

Lovat did not have much better fortune, losing 3-0 at home to Kyles Athletic.

Will Cowie, Ross MacRae and Conor Kennedy all scored in the first half for Kyles.

In the National Division, Glenurquhart were knocked off top spot after losing 1-0 at Lochaber.

They were replaced by Fort William, who won 7-1 against Strathglass – led by four goals from Victor Smith.

There were plenty of goals, too in the North Division One, where two separate 3-3 draws saw Kinlochshiel and Glenurquhart, and Lovat and Beauly, share the spoils.

Inverness were also in action, losing out 4-1 to Skye.

It was more positive for the Inverness second team in North Division Two, though, as they defeated Boleskine 3-1.

Strathglass, meanwhile, were involved in the highest-scoring match of the weekend – although it is not one they will want to linger in the memory as they lost 12-0 to Lewis, who remain in contention for promotion as league champions.
