Nairn County manager Ronnie Sharp felt a lack of killer instinct cost Nairn County dearly in Saturday’s slender defeat to hosts Buckie Thistle.

The Station Park club went down 2-1 to the Jags, with sustained Nairn pressure in the last half hour of play failing to produce the equaliser they will feel that they merited.

Scott Adams opened the scoring after 14 minutes, before Sam Robertson doubled the hosts’ lead immediately after half time.

A Dylan McKenzie finish sparked hope of a Nairn comeback but a clutch of chances went astray for Sharp’s men.

"We lost goals at bad moments – early in both halves," the Wee County manager said.
