HIGHLAND can secure the runners-up spot in the BT Caledonia League Division One with a bonus-point win over Hillfoots tomorrow.

The last game of the season has arrived and even though Orkney secured the title last weekend, Highland still have plenty to play for at Canal Park.

There will be some personnel changes but it will be a rotation of regular players, meaning head coach Dave Carson still has a strong side available.

Prop Stuart Watson is suspended due to his red card last Saturday while work commitments rule out Craig Findlater and Eamon Guinan. Injury means Matt Kennedy misses the end of the season and Alex MacDonald faces a long recovery after his bad head knock.

The good news for Carson is that David Titterington, Oscar Baird and Nathan McLaughlan return to face a side that is always a handful despite its lowly position in the league. The Tillicoultry side just escaped relegation yet with no pressure now on them, they could either be easy prey or a tough nut to crack.

Saturday will also be Gareth High’s last game for Highland as he moves to Glasgow for a new career. High has been a committed squad player over the past two seasons with his efforts contributing so much to the first-team’s successes.

Earlier on Saturday Highland’s P6-7 and P4-5 Mini sides travel down to Banavie, Fort William, for the Lochaber RFC Mini Festival.

On Saturday the under-16s hope to have a friendly match with Caithness as a preparation for the Caledonia Junior Finals Day the following weekend.
