ROSS County supporters are buying season tickets in record numbers in anticipation of a successful season.

The return of Derek Adams to the helm has seen no fewer than seven new faces arrive at Victoria Park over the summer.

After such a disappointing campaign last time round when County struggled to avoid the relegation play-off place, there is a renewed optimism they can be amongst the leading teams in the First Division, which is reflected in the season tickets that have been sold so far.

“We’ve seen sales up by over 10 per cent on the figure at the same time last year – and up until now that had been the all time record for the club," said Ranald Gilbert, the club's head of administration.

"I think the return of Derek and the signings show the ambition of the board and the club, and also promise more of the exciting attractive football which Derek had the team playing previously.”

Adams was full of praise for the backing the supporters have shown the team by purchasing their season tickets

“I’m delighted that the fans seem to be excited about the season in prospect," he said.

"We’ve got an excellent group of players at the club and we’re working hard as a team to ensure we are ready for the challenges ahead.

"Having a large crowd supporting you from the stands can make a real difference to a team, so it’s great to see that the fans are also getting ready.”

Season tickets are on sale from the club during normal office hours either in person, or by telephoning (01349) 860860. They can also be purchased 24 hours a day online at www.rosscountyfootballclub.co.uk.
