Inverness rower Mary Clouston on her way to victory in the women's veteran sculls.

AN entry of more than 60 crews from all over Scotland took part in the Macrae & Dick Eights and Small Boats Head on the Caledonian Canal in Inverness on Saturday.

The only local success came in the women’s veteran single sculls, which was won by Inverness rower Mary Clouston.

Two other Inverness crews reached the final of their events.

in the women’s R2 eights, the Inverness crew was just pipped by 0.4 seconds by Aberdeen University BC.

And it was a similar story in the men’s veteran eights, with a team from Aberdeen BC just holding off the Inverness rowers to claim the win.

The men’s open eights was won by a Clydesdale ARC crew, while the victory in the women’s race went to a Glasgow University BC outfit.

In the small boats events, a dead heat was recorded in the women’s R1 single sculls between Aberdeen rowers Iona Riley and Judith Herbert.
