Shaun Blair, Calum Carson, Magnus Hendry, Steven Murray, Patrick Ratumaisese, Ripini Rokodunguni and Seamus Ross have all been named in the squad.

In addition, Paddy Boyer who plays with Currie Chieftains and Highland, Jake Mills who has played with Edinburgh Accies and Highland and Callum Macpherson who plays for Stirling County and Highland, have also been selected for the squad.

The competition, which has been revived this season, will see four teams Caledonia Reds, Edinburgh, Glasgow and West and the South compete in the tournament.

The winners of Saturday’s game will take on The South in the final, after they defeated Edinburgh District 50-17 at Galashiels on Tuesday night.

The winners will face The South in the final at Braidholm, home of Glasgow High Academical on Sunday, May 21.

Players for the squad were selected on meeting player eligibility criteria as established by the Inter-district Championship Committee.

Players featured in each squad have been selected from across the National Leagues, which includes the Premiership.

Highland coaches Junior Bulumakau and Kevin Wyness are two of four coaches in the squad, along with former Caithness head coach Colin Sangster, now at Dundee and Sam Mountain from Gordonians.

Scottish Rugby vice president, Keith Wallace said: “There is a fantastic breadth of talent in the squad selections for the four Districts, and I am sure the coaching teams had some difficult decisions to make.”
