HEAD coach Dave Carson is rallying his Highland side to end their season on a high note by spoiling Kelso’s chances of winning the National One title in Inverness tomorrow.

Highland play their final game of the campaign at Canal Park, where victory will give them the chance of finishing the season in fourth place.

Highland are on 67 points in fifth place with fourth place Gala, who have two games left to play, on 68.

Kelso only need a bonus point tomorrow to clinch the league title and promotion to the Premiership in their final game of the season.

The Borders outfit are 10 points ahead of second place Ayr who have two matches remaining in the campaign.

Carson admits Highland are facing their toughest challenge of the season so far against Kelso.

But he wants his team to go all out attack and search for a bonus point victory to ensure they finish in fourth place.

“I set the lads an objective of getting 20 points from their final four games, so we are looking for five points on Saturday,” he said.

“Kelso could end up getting a bonus point, but for ourselves we want all five and put the pressure on Gala to win their last two games and put the pressure on them to get fourth place.

“We want to get a five pointer, but it will be tough as Kelso seem to grind out results.

“They have only lost two matches all season, but we came close to beating them when we lost 24–21 in October.

“They did take us apart in the first half, but we came back strongly in the second half.

“Kelso certainly tired in the last 10 minutes and I think that we can achieve a result.”

Rupeni Rokoduguni returns for the final game after being on duty with the British Army at the Melrose Sevens. Craig Findlater is also scheduled to return to the squad for the final game tomorrow.
