Worcester Warriors have been suspended from all competitions.

The club, who pulled out of a friendly with Glasgow Warriors who they were due to face at the Caledonian Stadium in Inverness on September 2, have been banned from playing in the English Premiership and their women's team from the Premier 15.

The club were given until 5pm today to come up with a plan which would convince rugby authorities they had a viable future, but failed to do so.

The club has not yet entered administration, but it is hoped a new buyer can be found which would lift any suspension on them playing matches.

Worcester were due to face Glasgow Warriors at the Caledonian Stadium in Inverness on Friday, September 2 but pulled out 48 hours before the match was due to take place due to financial difficulties.

However Glasgow Warriors arranged last minute replacement opponents with Ayrshire Bulls agreeing to play the match.

Glasgow Warriors won the match 22-17.
