ALEX Samuel says his heart and passion is now with Inverness Caledonian Thistle after agreeing a loan deal from neighbours Ross County.

The striker says he is fully focussed on trying to achieve promotion with Inverness after joining the club on a deal until the end of the season.

The 28-year-old made his debut for Inverness when he scored in the 4-0 win over Broomhill in the Scottish Cup fourth round on Saturday.

Meanwhile, his parent club went crashing out of the tournament after suffering a 3-0 defeat to Championship outfit Partick Thistle.

Samuel says now he is playing for Inverness Caledonian Thistle, his focus is achieving success with his new club.

"My heart and passion now is with Inverness," said Samuel.

"I'm a Ross County player and I care for them too, but I'm here to do my best for Inverness.

"My heart and head is all about getting Inverness up the league. I will give 100% for that."
Samuel did see his penalty saved against Broomhill on Saturday, but did go on to find the net later in the game.

He was delighted to mark his debut with Inverness with a goal and was determined to repay Duncan Ferguson's faith in putting him in the first team at the first opportunity.

"I have come in and the gaffer has put me in the team straight away. That shows the intent.

"I really enjoyed played with the boys.

"I'd heard they play good football here, but to be actually in the team to experience that was great.

"I was happy to get a goal. It was a shame about the penalty, but I am glad to get off the mark.

"I want to help take Inverness up the Championship table now. I have come here to work my socks off.

"I give everything, that's who I am, and let's see where it goes."

He added: "All I need now is games. It doesn't matter how much you train, match-fitness is what you need and you get that on the park.

"To get those minutes in the legs on Saturday was fantastic. I am looking forward to my four or five months at Inverness."

Samuel hopes he has done enough to keep his place in the first team when Inverness Caledonian Thistle travel to Kirkcaldy to face title chasing Raith Rovers on Saturday.

Raith Rovers are struggling with only one win from their last six matches and Samuel says they will travel to Raith with confidence.

"Anyone is capable of beating anyone in the Championship.

"If you apply yourself and put in 100%, then we're confident we can come away with three points.

"I know Kyle Turner and Keith Watson, but this is one we're looking forward to.

"It will be good for me to work towards that game."
