Shaun Rooney says he learned from his costly mistake against Alloa Athletic to help his team to a sensational 3-0 victory at Dunfermline Athletic at the weekend.

The full back was in outstanding form on Saturday where he produced a tackle to deny Myles Hippolyte a golden chance to give the Pars the lead and then 60 seconds later nodded home a Tom Walsh cross to put ICT in front.

Rooney admitted he was at fault for conceding a late penalty against Alloa which led to them scoring an equaliser in a 2-2 draw at the Caledonian Stadium two weeks ago.

But he said at East End Park he was more aware at both ends of the pitch to help his team to a victory which elevated them to second in the Scottish Championship – a point behind leaders Ross County.
