Nairn St Ninian’s women will be the first to return to Highlands and Islands League action after the summer break as they travel to face Orkney on Sunday.

The Nairn Saints have been much improved this season compared to the last time the division was able to take place, sitting fifth with victories in half of their matches to date.

They were also the last side in action before the hiatus at the end of June, when they beat Kirkwall City 8–0 away from home.

St Ninian’s men, meanwhile, suffered a set-back in the Grill Cup earlier this week.

Nairn had won their opening match against Dufftown, but could not repeat the success against New Elgin – losing 3–2 despite goals from Charlie Fonweban and David Chambers.

Next up for St Ninian’s men is the first North Superleague game of the season tomorrow as they travel to Banchory.
