INVERNESS Caledonian Thistle player David Wotherspoon has reportedly agreed a deal to join Championship rivals Dundee United.

The Courier has reported the 33-year-old is set to head to Tannadice after his contract at Inverness expires this weekend.

Wotherspoon, originally joined Inverness Caledonian Thistle in October, on a short term deal but made a big impression during his time at the club.

During his three months at the club, he scored four goals in 10 appearances.

However, he missed Caley Thistle's last two matches against Airdrie and Ayr United through injury.

During his career, he made more than 500 senior appearances at his two previous clubs, Hibernian and St Johnstone.

After emerging through the Easter Road youth academy, he played over 150 games for the Hibees before becoming a St Johnstone legend.

He won two Scottish Cups and a League Cup with his hometown Perth team, delivering assists in the 2014 and 2021 finals and winning the man of the match award in 2021.

Having played youth and under 21 international football with Scotland, Wotherspoon defected to Canada as a full international, earning 13 caps and scoring once.

He was named in Canada’s 2022 FIFA World Cup and 2023 CONCACAF Gold Cup squads.
