Ref got it wrong at scrum, says Carson

Highland RFC head coach Dave Carson says his team have to put the disappointment of last weekend’s National Two defeat at Falkirk behind them, despite feeling the referee denied them three tries which could have won them the game.

The Greens’ pack were penalised three times in the 20-19 loss after the referee ruled Highland players were standing up during scrums where they drove over the try line.

Carson felt each of the disallowed tries should have been allowed to have stood and was disappointed with the referee’s decision making.

"We deserved to win it 100 per cent," he said.
