Caley Thistle this afternoon appealed Saturday’s red card decision against Max Anderson.

The on-loan Dundee midfielder took a straight red card from referee Grant Irvine for an allegedly dangerous high boot on Luke McBeth.

The Partick Thistle player needed only minor treatment and was able to play on, with few observers even in the away camp rating the challenge as malicious, intentional or reckless.

ICT manager Duncan Ferguson felt the referee’s call was grossly unfair.

He said: “I don’t see that as a red card. I have looked back at it (on video) and Max won the ball.

“Yes, his foot is high and the boy’s head is down but it was not intentional. It was another decision that went against us and I could see it coming.

“They got three or four decisions. We are the home team but we don’t seem to get a break.”

It is understood the appeal will be heard prior to Saturday’s match against Arbroath.
