The 37-year-old joined the club as a child, coming through the youth set-up before making his first team debut in 2003 at 17-years-old.

He spent the 2004/05 and 2005/06 seasons on at loan at Nairn St Ninian, who he joined permanently in 2006.

He returned to Nairn County in 2007 where he was to spend the next 14 full seasons.

Main played in six cup finals for the club, winning the 2011 Highland League Cup and the 2012 North of Scotland Cup.

He made a club record 496 appearances for Nairn County and scored a total of 22 goals.

Last December, he signed a contract to stay at the club until the end of this season, but has decided to terminate his contract early.

Manager Steven Mackay paid tribute to the player's service to the club.

He said: “Glenn’s service to Nairn has been incredible and will likely never be matched.

"He has dedicated his entire Highland League career to one football club, and I have an enormous amount of respect for him for that.

“The club is now entering into a new era and Glenn and I discussed what was best for him and the club and we mutually agreed that this was the right outcome.

“The club will work with Glenn over the next few months to arrange a game at the end of the season to give the fans the opportunity to acknowledge Glenn’s commitment and service which is the very least that he deserves.”
