DAVID Carson says nobody at Inverness Caledonian Thistle could hold their head high after being thrashed 5-1 at Partick Thistle.

Inverness suffered one of their heaviest defeats of the season in Glasgow on Friday as they were blown away after a poor performance.

The defeat leaves Inverness in seventh place and 11 points behind league leaders Dundee as they go into 2023.

Carson says everyone in the dressing room was left deflated at full time and everyone had to take responsibility for their performances.

“As players, coaching staff and as a dressing room we were left deflated," said Carson.

“We have to go away and look at ourselves.

“Nobody is happy, boys are frustrated, nobody in there can walk away with our heads held high after that game.

“You could say that in other performances.

We need to look at it, digest it, take it and look to improve and be positive.”

Inverness were without nine first team players on Friday as the club continue to experience an unprecedented injury crisis.

But Carson says they have enough players available to be performing better than they are right now.

“There are 21 players at this football club who can all play.

“They have to take accountability in situations like this, they have to look after themselves and perform and I don’t think many of us have done that recently.

“We have to look at ourselves and if you get that chance as a player you have to take it.

“You can look at the injuries, but you can also look at the players out on the pitch.

“We can’t look too far ahead or be too down.

“We have to look at ourselves, look at everyone individually, get back on that training pitch and do it right.

“It is down to us, we have to try and perform for the fans week in and week out.”
