Success for Inverness Harriers and Ross County Athletics Club at North Cross Country Championships at Gordonstoun

Inverness Harriers and Ross County Athletics Club celebrated success at the North Cross Country Championships at Gordonstoun last weekend.
Lucas Cairns claimed gold in the under-20’s men race when he won with a time of 22 minutes and 25 seconds.
He was 12 seconds ahead of team mate Angus Smith who won silver in 22:37 with Bruce Evans of Forres taking bronze in a time 22:47.
Rachel Murray from Stornoway won the under-20’s women race in a time of 28:10 with Highland Hill Runners athletes claiming second and third place.
Katie Slimon was second in 28:32 and Catriona Greaves claimed third in 29:50.
Roy Taylor of Elgin Amateur Athletics Club won the under-17 men’s race with a time of 20:02. Inverness athlete Angus Laird was second in 21:18 and Ross County’s Noah Carson third in 21:30.
In the under-15’s girl race, Inverness Harriers athlete Lois MacRae continued her dominant form when she claimed victory in a time of 14:31.
She was well ahead of Stornoway’s Abbie Stewart in second in 15:41 and Jessica Needs in third in 16:08.
Andrew Baird from Ross County won the under-15 boys’ race in 13:19. County athlete Lachlan Thomas was second in 13:46 with Israel Noble of Fraserburgh 14:10.
Robbie Welsh of Ross County won the under-13 boys’ race in a time of 13:48. Ewan Thompson of Inverness was second in 14:06 with Rowin Schiller third in 14:08.
Anna Meek of Inverness Harriers won the under-13 girls race in 14:55. Inverness claimed the top five places with Isla Burns (15:25) Aoibhe Doorley (15:32) Rosie Conroy (15:45) and Lucy Beastall (16:11).
