PICTURES - Kids have a smash to mark summer of tennis at Bellfield Park in Inverness

KIDS had an ace time at Bellfield Park Tennis Club when they celebrated Wimbledon with some smashing fun at the courts in Inverness.

Potential stars of the future, looking to follow in the footsteps of Andy Murray and Cameron Norrie were given the chance to pick up a racket and show what they could do.

Children had the chance to take to the courts in two sessions of tennis for players who were aged between five and nine-years-old.

Afterwards, the kids enjoyed eating some strawberries which were donated to the club by Tesco Ness Side and Tesco Extra.

The event took place a few days before Bellfield Park Tennis Club launched its summer camps which began this week.

The summer camps will be taking place during the school holidays from Monday, July 4 and Friday, August 5.

The first week of sessions takes place between Monday, July 4 and Friday, July 8.

The second week takes place between Monday, July 11 and Friday, July 15.

The third week of sessions takes place on Monday, July 18 and Friday, July 22 with the fourth session taking place between Monday, July 25 and Friday, July 29.

The final week of sessions takes place between Monday, August 1 and Friday, August 5, before kids are scheduled to go back to school.

The tennis sessions are suitable for anyone aged between five to 16-year-olds.
