Professional players Joe Cullen, Damon Heta, Alan Soutar and Jose de Sousa were the guests of honour, playing a series of matches against four talented local challengers from across the Highlands – Nicky Denoon, Craig Quinn, Derek MacLean and George Main.

MC Steve Falconer and Sky Sports "walk-on girl" Jade Slusarczyk were also on hand to present to the 300 strong crowd throughout the night.

The pros reached the semi final stage of an exhibition knock-out competition, with de Sousa beating Cullen and Heta beating Soutar. De Sousa and Heta, ranked 17th and 15th in the world, met in the final, which the latter won.

Those in attendance were also treated to live entertainment from comedian and impressionist Al Foran, who raised a chuckle with his interpretation of sports stars such as Conor McGregor, Mike Tyson and Tyson Fury.

From the funds raised, the club also plan to make a donation to kids' football club, Balloan FC and mental health charity, Mikeysline.

Inverness Athletic chairman Sandy Stephen said: “ It was a fantastic night and we are delighted with how it all went.

"We are very lucky to be able to call on the experience and knowledge of Kevin Wilson and Gordie Morrison to help us put these events on so a massive thank you much go to both of them and their team. So much work goes into these sort of nights by so many people and it’s greatly appreciated by not just me but by the football club as a whole.

"The Inverness Ice Centre were brilliant with all their help and guidance on the night. It’s a cracking place to hold an event like this and we can’t wait to be back next year.

"We hope everyone had a great night and were entertained and as I said before we can’t wait for next years event, planning for which has already started."
