Picture special: Runners take part in Nairn Turkey Trot on Boxing Day

OVER 200 people competed at the Nairn Turkey Trot on Boxing Day.

Irishman Niall Cornyn from Meath was the winner crossing the line in 16 minutes and 21 seconds.

He took first prize ahead of Inverness duo, early leader Lucas Cairns (16:39) and Luke Williams (17:32).

Jenny Bannerman celebrated her ninth women’s victory in the 5k Boxing Day Nairn Turkey Trot with a new course record and also won the time predictor competition.

The 32-year-old Scotland internationalist took the honours in 17:34 finishing fourth overall. Two other Inverness Harriers - junior Anna Cairns (19:15) and Lesley Hansen (20:20) - completed the female top three.
