Caberfeidh could not halt Oban Camanachd charge

Oban Camanachd travelled north to Strathpeffer and made it four wins from their last five league matches to go fourth in the Premiership through a 3-1 win over Caberfeidh.

Oban netted three times in the opening 21 minutes with Scott MacMillan, Malcolm Clark and Andrew MacCuish all being on target. Cabers managed to pull a goal back just after the break with Craig Morrison maintaining his remarkable scoring run.

Newtonmore moved into second place with a 5-0 win over bottom side Inveraray at The Eilean.

Goals from Iain Robinson, Evan Menzies and Ewen Fraser took More in to a 3-0 half time lead with Fraser adding a second followed by a Drew MacDonald strike to complete their tally. More now sit a point adrift of leaders Lovat but with three games in hand.

Lovat stay top of the Premiership courtesy of a fine 2-0 win against Kyles Athletic at Tighnabruiach. Greg Matheson followed up his 25th minute penalty conversion with another goal just before the interval.

In the National Division Oban Celtic defeated Strathglass 4-3 at Cannich to move up into fifth place in the table.

Cameron Butler gave Strath a 32nd minute lead which was erased four minutes later through Ross MacMillan. Lennon Campbell edged Celtic ahead early in the second half with the same player netting again shortly afterwards.

Steven Hyslop reduced the deficit in the 69th minute only for MacMillan to strike again in the 74th minute.

Hyslop found the net again for the home team in injury time.
