Inverness Caledonian Thistle forward George Oakley has warned that Championship newcomers Ross County and Partick Thistle will face a tough task to make an immediate return to the top flight.

Caley Thistle were in a similar position to the two last season, when having been relegated from the Premiership, they struggled to adapt to life in the second tier.

Oakley (22) says his side are ready to capitalise on any slip-ups from their promotion rivals and believes their Championship experience will give them an edge.

“There are teams coming down into the Championship who don’t know what the league is like,” he said.
