North fighters pack a punch at show in Inverness

North boxers had a successful night at The Highland Duel held in Inverness last weekend.

Inverness City Boxing Club Calum Turnbull and George Stewart, along with Nairn Boxing Club fighter Adian Williamson all enjoyed victories on Saturday.

Inverness fighter Turnbull turned in a confident performance to defeat Stephen Jackson From Manchester in a six-round suoer bantamweight contest.

Inverness fighter Stewart also enjoyed success when he defeated Jahfieus Faure from Birmingham in a four-round super featherweight contest.

Alness fighter Williamson also put in an assured performance to defeat Karlo Wallace From Birmingham in a four-round contest in a super-lightweight contest.

Inverness City Boxing Club head coach Laurie Redfern says it was an excellent performance from all three north fighters to claim victory.

“Each fight was really good and we were fortunate enough not to have a bad contest,” he said.

“Calum Turnbull won by a unanimous decision.

“George Stewart also had a a good victory and Adian Williamson was involved in a closer contest but deserved to win.

“Each of the fighters were first class and were up against boxers who did not want to get beat.

“They are three good boys who are going well.

“I was happy with the performance of all three lads and now we are looking forward to the next contest where I am sure they will be impressive again.”

Inverness City Boxing Club are looking ahead to the next professional show which is scheduled to take place in February.
