THE Scottish Rugby Union is still to decide whether Highland will be awarded points after their opening league game of the season was postponed because Aberdeen University was unable to raise a team.

Highland welcomed the rest as an opportunity for some injured players to recover but the league’s governing body may reschedule the Canal Park fixture for later in the campaign.

The idle weekend may work against the Greens in terms of losing competitive match practice when they host Aberdeenshire this Saturday.

Meanwhile, Highland Reds stormed to a 40-20 home win against Stornoway in their league opener.

The juniors also had a successful start with the under-18s beating Gordonstoun 33-20 on home turf and the under-15s dominating Moray 50-0 on the road with Iain Crush, Harrison Wright, Lyall Archer, Alisdair McArthur and Seamus Ross sharing the 10 tries.
