DAVE Newsham will be driving for the new Power Maxed Racing team in the 2015 British Touring Car Championship.

Out of a drive since the end of last season, Newsham will be behind the wheel of the Chevrolet Cruze Saloon for the coming season.

Following his release from AmDTuning.com at the end of last season, the Westhill driver was keen to continue his BTCC adventure.

He is the reigning Jack Sears Trophy holder, awarded to the driver with the most overtakes over the the course of the season.

With a drive already lined up for the 2016 campaign the 47-year-old needed a drive this year to keep sponsors on board.

Newsham is relishing the chance to get back out on the grid.

“I’m over the moon to be racing with Power Maxed Racing in 2015. The teams’ professionalism and its new ownership are fantastic.

"(Team principal) Adam Weaver and I have discussed our objectives at great length and we are both heading in the same direction.”
