He will face England's Conor Gough in the first round of the matchplay section who finished in 60th place on +6.

The two players will tee off at 9.53am.

But the second day belonged to Kilmalcolm's Matthew Clark who produced a new course record of 62 (-9) to finish the qualifying stages as number one seed going into tomorrow's matchplay competition.

Nairn golfer Fraser Fotheringham failed to qualify for the matchplay stage after finishing 92nd (+9).

However he had an excellent second round with a 69 (-2).

But a nightmare first round of 82 (+11) on Monday gave him too much to do to finish in the top 64.
