Nairn Synchro prove a winning combination at national championships in East Kilbride

NAIRN Synchro claimed the coveted Combination Team Trophy and the Most Scottish Podium Trophy at the Artistic Swimming National and Age Group Championships in East Kilbride.

The line up of Rosa Clark, Freya Charters, Eleanor Fryer, Corin MacDonald, Anna McGregor and Bethany Thomas claimed the trophy which they have won every year apart from once since it was established in 2006.

Freya Charters at just 11 competing in the 12 and under section in her first ever competition showed her talent for the future winning the open and the Scottish section in both figures and free solo, being awarded the Portsmouth Quaich.

Also in the 12 and under figure section was Isla Allen being placed a creditable ninth in her first competition.

The 13/15 section saw Eleanor Fryer placed third in the open in figure and solo and went on the win the Scottish solo cup, the May Laidlaw trophy and the M Black, J. Brayshaw trophy for figures.

Teaming up with Rosa Clark in the duet section the girls again were placed third in the Open section and going on to win the Scottish 13/15 duet title.

Also competing in her first age group figure competition was Abbie Lee being placed 21st.

The Nairn junior partnership of Anna McGregor and Corin MacDonald kept the banner flying high for Nairn.

McGregor was the free solo champion winning the Berlin Trophy and MacDonald was the technical solo champion. Pairing up in the duet section against stiff competition, they were placed second in the Open section first in Scottish winning the Neilson plates.

The senior section saw Bethany Thomas won third in the Open Solo section and first in the Scottish winning The Helen Murray Trophy.
