He is looking for his team to bounce back after they suffered a 4–3 defeat to Banchory St Ternan in their opening fixture of the North Super League in Deeside on Saturday.

Victory is necessary to at least give them a chance of topping their group, but it could also depend on having a bigger winning margin than New Elgin who are facing Dufftown tonight.

With eight goals in their first three competitive matches in all competitions, Walker says it has been a good return in front of goal.

But he wants his team to make the goals count after suffering two defeats in those three matches.

“Whether we top the group also depends on how New Elgin do against Dufftown, so it is all to play for,” says Walker.

“If you told me at the start of the Grill Cup campaign if we won our last match we would have an opportunity at progressing from the league into the knockout stages, we would have took it.

“We only had two pre-season games and if i’m being honest, it has told as a few of the boys are still looking leggy at the end of games.

“We are looking at the first few games as pre-season fixtures, but these are games that we want to win.

“Hopefully the boys step up to the plate on Tuesday and continue the progress that has been made.”

At Banchory, Saints took the lead through Liam Robinson after 12 minutes with Banchory equalising four minutes before half time. Charlie Fonweban scored 60 seconds later to put Saints 2–1 up at the break.

Banchory equalised on the hour mark but Saints went ahead again through Robert MacDonald.

But the hosts levelled before winning with the last kick of the game.
