Dave Carson admits there could not have been a bigger game for Highland to return to action in than a trip to Heriot’s Blues on Saturday.

Heriot’s sit second in the National One table, a spot that Carson is targeting thinking that Biggar will not be caught at the top.

A win for Highland would see them leapfrog the Edinburgh outfit into the runners-up spot, although Heriot’s would still have a game in hand.

“You might want someone lower down to get back into the swing of things. We were playing really well against Kelso, but we’ve had a two or three week break now.

“So we have to get back into it quickly now to get everybody back into the right mindset and the way we were playing before the Christmas break.

“On the other hand, the boys know it’s a big match, and if we get the win we can get right up close to them and really push them for second place."
