Millburn Academy pupil is called up for Scotland squad for London Mini Marathon this month

INVERNESS Harriers athlete Lois Macrae has been called up to the Scotland squad to compete at the London Mini Marathon this month.

The Millburn Academy pupil has been officially named in the under-15 squad after a series of impressive victories in recent months.

She is one of 24 athletes selected for the Scotland squad who will compete in London on Saturday, April 22.

Macrae became under-15 Scottish Cross Country Champion at Falkirk last month as well as cruised to victory at the Inverness 5k.

She also set a 1500 metre record at the Age Group Champs in Glasgow last month.

Macrae also won the River Ness 5k, part of the Loch Ness Marathon and Festival of Running back in October.

There is also success for Ross County Athletics Club duo Caitlyn Heggie and Lachlan Thomas who has also been called up to the Scotland squad.

Invergordon Academy pupil Thomas, who won the Inverness 5k in March, will compete in the under-15 squad.

Dingwall Academy pupil Heggie, who became under-17 national cross country champion in February, is selected for the under-17 squad.
